ABOUT KATHLEEN P. HOCKEY
Kathleen P. Hockey is a licensed master’s level clinical
social worker, award winning author, and recognized
national speaker. She received her Masters of Social Work
degree from the University of Michigan in 1984 and is a
member of the National Association of Social Workers and
the Academy of Certified Social Workers. In 2004, her book Raising Depression Free Children won the Body & Soul’s Nautilus Book Award for best parenting book. In 2005, she won the Social Worker of the Year Award (National Association of Social Workers, Washington State Chapter, Blue Mountain Unit ).
For twenty-eight years, Ms. Hockey has treated adults, children, couples, and families in psychiatric inpatient and outpatient settings, community service agencies, schools, and private practice.
In recent years, her interest has shifted from a focus on illness to a focus on health, resiliency, problem-solving, and prevention.
